This began as a sketch one evening at MAGFest from an idea that just kind of popped into my head. The original concept viewed the group from behind as they headed into the darkness, but I wrestled with it a bit and eventually decided this view would let me better portray the emotions I wanted for each character. I spent about a month off-and-on working on this, and I'm proud to say it's the first result of my New Year's resolution. I plan to draw an hour every day for the rest of this year, and hopefully my skills will improve as much as they did last year.
